About design
The base itself is a West German workwear from the late 60s, early 70s. It is made of thick, durable and quite thin light blue fabric. In most jackets of this drop, the buttons are also very interesting - removable.
Precisely because the jacket is a work jacket, on the front of the heart above the pocket you can see the embroidery “Work&Chill” and “Aloha”, which together slightly resemble a white handkerchief peeking out of the pocket.
On the back you can see a large embroidery of an island, which on a blue background resembles a lonely piece of land lost in the boundlessness of the sky and the ocean. At the top is the inscription – Go away, at the bottom – LVS, Char, as well as the year of release.
LVS is Pavlo Livsy, the author of the drawing.
We printed the year of manufacture using silkscreen printing, imitating the paint on barrels/containers/boxes in ports.
Everything else is semi-manual embroidery using the Chain Stitch technique. The machine embroiders, but each stitch is done by hand, as when sewing. That's why we call this process semi-manual. In general, it is very painstaking and complex work, but it is definitely worth the effort - the result is unsurpassed. With it, every thing is a piece of history. It was, is and will be so.
Go away – go away. This is a simple message to others when they are unwanted. This is exactly the thought that came to mind when we imagined ourselves on a beautiful tropical desert island – writing the usual “help” in the sand, however, did not make sense.
But let's imagine that we are Polynesians. So why not convey our message to the world not with sticks or stones, but with the bones of eaten foreigners? After all, this is our tradition and culture. This is how we mark our boundaries and orders.
Procedures that are subject to one simple principle – aloha:
- Akahai – sensitivity to the tenderness of kindness;
- Lōkahi – harmony, unity;
- Oluʻolu – the joy of acceptance;
- Haʻahaʻa – modesty of humility;
- Ahonui – steadfastness of patience.
Aloha teaches unity with the spiritual world. This principle is about creating strong and good relationships with the whole world. Everyone who lives according to it is fascinated by this world. After all, you and the world are two parts of one whole, single space. For aloha, the personal world is not limited to your own body - and the whole world is a part of the personality and needs care and mutual understanding, not exploitation.
Well, ALOHA!
