Char Post-Vintage Garments is a brand that rethinks the concept of vintage clothing, transforming it into new, unique pieces. We draw inspiration from classic designs, giving them new life and creating each item with the best vintage traditions in mind.

Designs

Design is a graphic, not a specific item: we apply one drawing to various vintage blanks. Therefore, items in the same series differ in cut, color, and fabric age. First, choose the drawing, then the blank.

About forms

Forms and manufacturers

Forms and manufacturers

All our designs are based on various manufacturers/brands. These can be vintage civilian, workwear, military, or other categories of items.

The highlight of the collection is vintage from the 80s-90s. We primarily choose deadstock, meaning items that have long been out of production and are no longer sold by manufacturers – additionally, this means they are unworn, but may have minor signs from long-term storage.

Fabric

Fabric

The cotton-polyester blend from American manufacturers offers the best of both worlds: comfort and a "natural" feel, along with incredible durability – these products age like fine wine.

There are also 100% cotton options for those who prefer pure natural materials.

A more complex and elaborate approach to implementation:

  • T-shirts often have no side seams;
  • they have reinforced shoulder and neck seams;
  • single-stitch hems.

Modern base

The other part of the collection is contemporary base pieces. Often, these are the same manufacturers as in the previous category, but with a 20-40 year age difference. Accordingly, the production technologies here are simplified.

For ease of selection, each original form has its own page on the website. Some forms are available only as single copies.

Care instructions

  1. Laundry

    • Turn inside out before washing.
    • Use a delicate cycle and a temperature not exceeding 40°C.
    • Choose a liquid detergent without harsh bleaches.

  2. Drying

    • Do not tumble dry – heat may damage the print/embroidery.
    • The best option is to dry flat or hang dry in the shade.
    • Do not hang wet items by the shoulders – stretching may occur.

  3. Ironing

    • Iron inside out on a low temperature.
    • Avoid direct iron contact with the print/embroidery – preferably use a thin cloth or steam treatment.
